I noticed that I haven’t posted much about food on the blog, which is quite suprising because I talk about food, eat food, see pictures of food, almost the whole day. So,to get back to it. I thought of sharing this INSANE Brownie recipe that I discovered last month.
It is a tradition to bake a haul on Christmas and I was going through recipes and recipes, trying to find something new. And Voila,I discovered this perfect recipe with a combination of cookie dough, orea in between and soft chocolate layer on the top of it.
It looked amazing in the pictures but when made and eaten,it tastes like heaven.
So,below is the recipe for it. I have divided it in two parts. If you love to bake from scratch, the first recipe is for you. But if you are a little lazy and are just in for the treats, head down to the second recipe. 🙂
RECIPE 1 – (from scratch)
Ingredients:
Cookie layer
1½ cup flour
1 tsp baking powder
1 egg
1½ sticks butter, melted
½ cup white sugar
½ cup packed brown sugar
1 tsp vanilla extract
1 cup chocolate chips
Pinch of salt
1 package of Oreo® cookies
Brownie layer
½ cup cocoa powder
½ cup boiling water
¾ stick butter, melted
½ cup vegetable oil
3 eggs
1 tsp vanilla
2½ cups sugar
1½ cups flour
Pinch of salt
Method:
1)Preheat the oven to 350 °F (177 °C). Grease a 9″x13″ brownie pan
First make the cookie dough-
•Mix the wet ingredients for the cookie layer (egg, butter, and vanilla) with the sugar until smooth.
•Mix the rest of the cookie layer ingredients except for the chocolate chips. Stir into the wet ingredients in small increments into everything is well mixed.
•Stir in the chocolate chips. Pour into the pan and cover the entire bottom surface evenly.
•Layer the Orea cookies on the cookie dough. Cover as much as possible. (The Orea cookies when baked, gets soft and blends,it doesn’t leave a much crunchy effect to the brownie)
•For the Brownie Layer-
•Whisk the cocoa powder into the boiling water until there are no clumps. Add the oil and butter, and again stir until smooth.
•Mix in the eggs and vanilla, first making sure the mixture has cooled to the point that the eggs will not cook. Once this is completely smooth, stir in the sugar.
•Stir in the flour, salt, and mix until smooth.
•Pour the brownie batter all over the Oreos.
Bake for an hour. Allow to cool for two hours before serving.
To add a little more flavour. You can use chocolate icing on the brownie and use sprinkles as topping!
Recipe 2(easier one)-
Ingredients:
1 roll of pre-made, refrigerated chocolate chip cookie dough
1 package of Oreo® cookies
1 box of brownie mix, prepared using standard instructions but unbaked
1)Preheat the oven to 350 °F (177 °C). Grease a 9″x13″ brownie pan
2)Open the package of cookie dough and, using your fingers, spread it across the pan so the entire bottom surface is evenly covered.
3) Arrange Orea cookies on top of it.
4) Pour the brownie batter on top of it.
5) Bake for 45 minutes or until a toothpick can be inserted and come out clean or with few crumbs. Let cool.
And Done!
So,go get your baking gloves on and try this one recipe which will be a hit in any and every event!
This is the easiest method to make the brownies, which I have discovered. Let me know if you face any trouble during it.
I would love to see your feedback!
