OUTHOUSE 

Opened up in 2012 in Delhi’s Meherchand Market, the brand was founded by sisters Kaabia and Sasha Grewal. In the past, we have seen glimpses of Outhouse accessories when they’ve come here for exhibitions or pop-ups. But now, they’ve finally just opened up their first flagship store in Mumbai, and the chosen destination is Bandra. 

I got the opportunity of checking out the store and the collection at their media preview. Entering the store, you will be immediately blessed by the luxurious and colourful vibes. This 500 sq feet store is pink, plush and fabulous and a walk in is just like walking into a Tiffany’s, but one you can still afford. They make costume jewellery using different types of metal and enamel, each a bold expression on its own. The store also has a personal couture section for appointments. The prices start at INR 3,500 and go upward.

Outhouse jewelry is a favorite of many Bollywood divas, including Sonam Kapoor, Alia Bhatt, Shraddha Kapoor, Ileana D’cruz, Priyanka Chopra, Neha Dhupia, Deepika Padukone, Gauhar Khan, Neha Dhupia, Gauhar Khan, Sonakshi Sinha, Kiara Advani, Bipasha Basu, Tabu, Pernia Qureshi, Parineeti Chopra, Shilpa Shetty and Huma Qureshi among others.

The dynamic duo behind the enormously successful accessories label Outhouse are the Sisters Sasha and Kaabia Grewal launched their brand ‘Outhouse’ in 2011 and have achieved immense popularity and recognition in a very short period of time. 

Sasha and Kaabia have different design sensibilities that complement each other perfectly. Sasha is more inclined to bohemian style whereas Kaabia describes her creations as quirky and edgy. Outhouse strive to make pieces that are affordable and wearable by making uber creative designs out of regular metals like brass, zinc and copper, sometimes adding exclusive baroque pearls, gold and precious stones. The Outhouse collection includes rose gold plated earrings, rhodium plated cape choker, quirky lip shaped pendants, brooches studded with pearls, statement neck pieces in myriad colors and maang tikkas to name a few. The uber-talented Grewal sisters draw inspiration from diverse subjects like the 1920s, Europe, vintage cars, movies, royalty and famous personalities.
