Shikha & Nitika x Pernia’s Pop-Up Shop

On 18 January, 2019; Pernia’s Pop-Up Shop added a new collection to their already fantastic jungle of looks, by the designers Sihkha & Nitika.

I got a chance to personally interview them about their new collection.

What inspired you to get into designing?

I was one of those creative kids. So, since childhood I’ve been intrigued by the art world.

I did my graduation in designing from Pearl Academy. Soon after my graduation, my sister and I started this label.

It’s been six years now and the journey is still going on.

What are the things that you keep in mind when you get to your design board?

First is comfort and then is style.

These are the two things that we keep in mind. Always.

We first see ourselves as the customer in order to get a better insight into creating THE outfit. I think that is very important before bringing the outfits into the market.

You have a beautiful collection. Can you tell us what is your USP for these designs?

Easy-to-go drapes and delicate embroidery.

This collection is inspired by nature. That is why we have our designs in pastel colours. We have butterflies and flowers, overall to give it a softer touch. But the shoulder work & the drapes gives the outfits a more stronger feel.

And everything that she said, is exactly what I felt when I draped her designs.

When you go to a Sangeet or a Shaadi, the mood is: TO HAVE FUN. It ain’t that easy if your outfit is uncomfortable.

Shikha & Nitika’s designs offer comfort. The outfits are comfortable enough to dance around with no care. The drapes add a cherry on the top.

When you move, a beautiful flair of pastels will follow your every move. Also, the shoulder design makes you feel no less than a royalty.
